This Christmas and holiday season digital devices are sure to be amongst the most popular of gifts. We are all connecting with more devices in the home now, and it’s not just notebook PCs, tablets and smartphones and gaming consoles anymore. More people are buying smart speakers and TVs, security cameras, thermostats and even light bulbs that can be switched on and off from an app, or with the user’s voice.
At the same time, we are all using our personal devices for social media, for interactive game-playing, and for watching video. And we are using these devices all over the household – and even when we are moving from room to room.
Good coverage
What all this means is that there is a need for good WiFi connectivity all over the household. The kids may have their own games consoles, smart TVs and speakers in their bedroom, and mum or dad may want to set up their own den in the basement, where they can watch their own content or get a bit of work done out of office hours.
But with conventional wireless routers, you don’t get the same signal strength everywhere. This is a real problem. You may be fine using your laptop or tablet in the same or next room to where the router is located. Upstairs or down in the basement however, the signal may not be as strong.
You might be able to solve the problem to some degree by using a plug-in range extender. But while these devices do work quite well, they will never quite give you the full speed and quality you’d get if you were right next to the router.

Complete coverage
Up to four Multy X units can be used to provide complete coverage across a property, but in practice, you would probably need two or three at most. They system works by using different frequencies to ensure everyone can get the best possible signal wherever they are, and also forming a dedicated ‘backhaul’ connection between each of the Multy X devices. This means there is always room for traffic to move between them and that a constant signal strength is always maintained, wherever you are in the house.
